Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in America. Ashford is an actor, singer and dancer. She began her Broadway career performing in musicals, including Wicked Legally Blonde, and Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh is a collaborator on projects with award-winning director, actors and producers throughout the course of her career. Ashford is scheduled to be in the role of Kumail Nanjiani, on Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford is in the production of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust which also features Sarah Paulson. The film will be released on Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford returns to Broadway in the month of March 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The group behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at helm of the show. Ashford portrayed Paula Jones, the main actor in Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the impeachment crisis that swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key characters into the first ever impeachment proceedings in America for more than a century. Her two seasons on CBS show B Positive was her first big part. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre it also featured legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway performances. Ashford divides her time between Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and grew up there.
